Tribulus terrestris
An annual from Europe that produces long trailing stems. Puncture Vine forms mats up to a meter wide and stems can be over a meter long. It is found in dry sandy or gravely sites.
Stems are covered in hairy compound leaves with 6-8 leaflets. Flowers are yellow and small with 5 petals. Fruit are burrs that are sharp and pointy and break in to 5 sections when mature. The burrs can injure livestock and damage wool.
