Centaurea diffusa
Family: Asteraceae
This invasive plant can be found in Manitoba, but its extend is minimal. The largest infestations have been found south-west of Morden. This invasive weed is not wide-spread and there is an opportunity to stop it in its tracks.
Flowers: white or sometimes purple, with small, sharp, rigid spines on the bracts.
Leaves: Leaves are alternate and divdided. They are hairy and greyish-green in colour.
Stems: many branches growing from a single upright stem, It can grow to 0.3-0.6m in height
Root: a taproot
